Please review the pre-treatment considerations below regarding contraindications, anaesthetics, and precautions:

  1. Existing Cosmetic Tattoos
May be considered correctional work and require a ‘consultation only’ appointment first. Do not book the full treatment without consulting one of our team about your existing tattoos.
  2. Pregnancy
We do not perform tattoos during pregnancy.
  3. Breastfeeding
We do not perform tattoos during breastfeeding. Feel free to inquire for more details.
  4. Chemical Peels
Avoid any chemical peels 2-4 weeks before and after your cosmetic tattoo treatment.
  5. Cosmeceutical Skincare
Avoid products containing AHA’s (Glycolic, Lactic acid), Vitamin C, Benzoyl Peroxide, Vitamin A, or alcohol (greater than 6%) for at least 5 days before and 2 weeks after treatment. Long-term use may accelerate fading.
  6. Injectables
Muscle relaxants and dermal fillers should not be done within two weeks before or after the tattoo treatment to ensure even results and minimize bruising.
  7. Eczema/Dermatitis
If you have sensitive skin or dermatitis, seek medical advice before undergoing a cosmetic tattoo.
  8. Allergies
Notify your tattooist if you have allergies to latex, rubber, medications, numbing agents, or Phenylalanine (PPE).
  9. IPL/Laser
Avoid IPL or laser treatments on the area for at least 4 weeks before treatment. Do not perform any laser treatments on areas containing cosmetic tattoo pigment.
  10. LED Therapy
LED therapy can assist with healing and may be beneficial post-treatment.
  11. Facial Surgery
Doctor’s approval is required before treatment following recent facial surgery.
  12. Topical Vitamin A
Avoid Retin-A, Tretinoin, Hydroquinone, and bleaching agents within 5 days of treatment to reduce hypersensitivity and scarring risks.
  13. Alcohol
Refrain from consuming alcohol 24 hours before the procedure to prevent excessive bleeding.
  14. Supplements
Avoid Fish Oil, Primrose, Krill Oil, Ginseng, and Ginkgo Biloba for a week before treatment.
  15. Medications
Consult with your tattooist if you’re taking Warfarin, Heparin, Aspirin, opioids (e.g., Endone), Prednisone, Roaccutane (within 8-12 months), or antibiotics.
  16. Diabetes
Due to slower healing, please consult before booking if you have diabetes.
  17. Cold Sores
Treatment should be avoided if you have active cold sores. The tattoo process may increase the risk of future outbreaks.
  18. Radiation/Chemotherapy
Doctor’s approval is required before treatment if you are undergoing radiation or chemotherapy.
  19. Exercise/Gym
Avoid chlorinated or saltwater pools, UV exposure, sunbeds, and infrared light for at least 2 weeks after treatment. Avoid intense cardio, excessive sweating, saunas, and spray tans for 48 hours post-treatment.

Once you’ve reviewed these considerations, we’ll schedule your appointment at a convenient time.

Anaesthetic

After booking, we recommend ordering a medical-grade anaesthetic to ensure complete comfort during the procedure. You’ll only feel a slight vibration in the area, and your comfort is our top priority.

For legal reasons, we cannot supply medical-grade pharmaceuticals, but we’ve simplified the process:

Please avoid purchasing numbing products from a local pharmacy, as they are typically half the strength of what we recommend.
